The permanent professional staff at RRC consists of individuals trained in economics, statistics, business, computer science, and finance. Currently there are six members of the professional staff at RRC and two members of the supporting staff. These individuals form the core work force for consulting and research projects. Assisted by the associated professional staff, these individuals provide a capability which responds readily to client’s needs.
Dr. Saving is Chairman of the Board of RRC, Inc. and is Director of the Private Enterprise Research Center at Texas A&M University. He served as President of RRC for ten years and has served as President of the Southern Economic Association, the Western Economic Association, and the Association of Private Enterprise Education. A University Distinguished Professor of Economics at Texas A&M, he also held the position of Head of the Department of Economics at Texas A&M for six years. He is currently co-editor of Economic Inquiry, as well as Medicare Reform: Issues and Answers (1999). He co-authored The Economics of Medicare Reform (2000). In addition, he has many articles in professional journals and two influential books on monetary theory. His current research emphasis is on the benefit of markets in solving the pressing issues in health care and Social Security. In 2000, Dr. Saving was appointed by President Clinton as a Public Trustee of the Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds. Then, in May 2001, President Bush named Dr. Saving to the bipartisan President’s Commission to Strengthen Social Security. He has testified in a number of trials and developed economic testimony and argument in numerous cases involving questions of antitrust and other complex litigation. His litigation experience covers a broad range of industries, including automobiles, tetracycline, asphalt, concrete pipe, crude oil, oil extraction equipment, coal slurry pipelines, natural gas pipelines, retail gasoline, cement, health insurance, health care, business interruption, real estate, steel, air transportation, photo processing, and others. Large corporations, national associations, and government agencies have benefited greatly from Dr. Savings’ more than 35 years experience in economic research and analysis.
Dr. House is President of RRC, Inc. and has been with the firm since 1978. For over forty years RRC, Inc. has been providing corporations, law firms and non-profit organizations with sound economic and financial analysis solutions to identify business problems and complex antitrust and incomplete contracts litigation proceedings. Prior to his leadership role in the firm he served on the faculties of Texas A&M University and Auburn University. His consulting and antitrust experience includes work in litigation support, business consulting, and survey research in a large variety of industries and organizations. He has many publications in leading professional journals and has also testified in over 50 trials involving patents, trade secrets, contract disputes, and anti-competitive conduct. He has constructed economic models of industries with which projections of sales and market shares are constructed. He understands the risks and returns of first-movers and strategies employed to capitalize on the competitive advantages of first-movers.
Dr. House is the newest Senior Economist at RRC, Inc. He joined his father Donald, Sr. and Dr. Fry full-time in June of 2009. Previously, he was assistant professor of economics at Hardin-Simmons University as well as a research economist at RRC. He has assisted RRC economists in a broad scope of litigation matters over the past several years. He conducts primary research in relevant market issues for use in antitrust, patent infringement, and market foreclosure litigation. Dr. House has an extensive background in litigation support in a variety of industries, with special focus in health care products and health care professional labor markets.
Mr. Buenger has been an integral part of litigation and business consulting services at RRC since he joined the firm in July 2000. His expertise extends across a wide range of financial and economic issues. Mr. Buenger assists in the development of models to analyze data and calculate damages; participates in the research and analysis of case documents, academic literature, financial statements, and market data; and contributes in the preparation and analysis of expert reports and exhibits. His work experience at RRC covers a broad range of industries including oil and gas, health care, insurance, telecommunications, and the automotive industry, among others. Mr. Buenger graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in 1995 with a B.S. in Economics.
Mr. Petersen is Director of Computing Services at RRC and is responsible for the maintenance of RRC’s computing facilities and for the development of client databases and data management software. Mr. Petersen has managed many large complex databases in support of litigation cases and survey data collection. He also provides analysis assistance with his programming skills in econometric and database software. Mr. Petersen handles RRC’s data importing, exporting, and conversion services through which data in various formats and electronic media are exchanged and deployed in efficiently usable forms. Mr. Petersen has been employed with RRC since 1983.
Ms. Walker is the Office Manager at RRC and is responsible for organizing and filing all documents received from our clients. She also assists the staff in research, data entry, and graphics, and she manages the day-to-day operations of the office. Ms. Walker assists with formatting and proofreading of reports, affidavits, and declarations.
Mrs. Walker is the financial manager for the firm. She is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations, employee benefits, and human resources of RRC. In addition, she assists with Dr. House’s other business ventures and non-profit organizations.
Mrs. Walker has extensive experience in cash management, financial analysis and forecasting. She joined the firm in 2010. Previous experience includes banking and finance, municipality and non-profit work for local organizations.
Dean House graduated from Sam Houston University with a B.S. in economics in 2012. After completion of his undergraduate degree, he enrolled in the PhD. Programs in economics at Texas A&M, completing courses in econometrics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, and finance. He has been on staff at RRC since 2012, serving as an analyst in several high level, antitrust cases. His work includes empirical analysis, identification and review of relevant economic literature, and assembly of industry data relevant to measures of market share, pricing, barriers to entry, and relevant binding government regulations. His work in the medium and heavy truck industry was critical in establishing the boundaries of relevant geographic markets.
